Interested in starting a new club?

Creating a new Campus Club

  • Build Your Team:
    • Recruit a Club Advisor: Find an advisor who is a current YCCD employee. 
    • Recruit Members: Make sure your club has five current MJC students as Executive Officers (President, Vice President, ICC REP., Secretary, and Treasurer). All officers must be enrolled in at least 5 units and maintain a 2.0 GPA. 
    • Create Your Club’s Constitution and Bylaws: Work with your advisor to develop your club’s constitution and bylaws. (If you need a template, just let us know!) 
    • Create Your Club Roster: Provide a complete list of your club members. 
  • Fill Out the Registration Form

     

  • Train and Learn:
    • Club Training: Club Advisor and all 5 Executive Officers are required to attend the club training session.
    • Title IX Training: Club Advisor and all 5 Executive Officers must participate in the mandatory Title IX Training session. 
  • Make It Official: (Please complete the above steps before proceeding with official ratification.) 
    • Attend the ICC Meeting: Both the club advisor and club president must attend the ICC Meeting that your club is scheduled to be voted on. (date and time will be provided once the previous steps are complete). 
    • Attend the ASMJC Meeting: The club president must attend the ASMJC Meeting that your club is scheduled to be voted on. (date and time will be provided once the ICC ratifies the club).
